The 2nd (B), 3rd (G) and 4th (D) strings are the same in open G as in standard tuning. If you're familiar with triad forms in standard tuning it will help crossover to open G tuning.

Major Barre Chords for Open G

The root note in open G tuning is on the 5th string, playing the top string (lowest D) in these barre chords is optional. Keith Richards did this by getting rid of the low D string, playing a 5 string guitar in open G.
