Gibson Dusk Tiger
On December 7, 2009 Gibson released the Gibson Dusk Tiger guitar, a new generation of robot guitars. Evolving the technology of the Gibson Dark Fire, the Dusk Tiger can tune itself to one of 11 tuning presets in a matter of seconds and features on-board EQ enabling a multitude of tonal options in one guitar. With the provided software, owners of the Dusk Tiger can edit and program their own EQ tone settings along with the default tone presets. ![]() The MCK (master control knob) from the Dark Fire was also improved for the Dusk Tiger which features the MCK II. Using the MCK II is easier and faster to select the tuning and tone options, including full color LED and light pipe technology making it visible in light or dark conditions. The MCK II controls the coil tapping features and can simultaneously select one of the 99 the tuning presets and one of 98 tone presets in a matter of seconds. ![]() The Dusk Tiger comes with Chameleon Tone-Editing-Software allowing the guitarist to precisely edit the tone and tuning presets as well so different pickup options. These presets can then be uploaded and stored to the Dusk Tiger, ready for use. Pickups: Burst Bucker 3 (Alnico 2 bar magnet) in the bridge positions and a P-90H (Alnico V bar magnet) in the neck position. The Dusk Tiger is also equipped with individual Gibson-designed piezo pickups in each string saddle of the bridge for acoustic sounding tones. The Dusk Tiger's pickguard is uniquely shaped and chrome plated. ![]() Body: Grade A Marblewood top joined with ebony strips and a tone chambered mahogany back. The Dusk Tiger is coated with Gibson's Tiger Skin nitrocellulose finish that brings out the characteristics of the wood and grain. ![]() ![]() Headstock and Neck: solid mahogany with an ebony fingerboard. The Dusk Tiger is fitted with a chromed truss rod cover. ![]() Tuning Keys: Gibson's Robot tuners have been redesigned to be smaller, lighter and considerably faster. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
